Treasure Coast Rowing Club to host "Learn to Row Day"

Fort Pierce, FL – Drew Mello talks with Jeff Livingstone, of the Treasure Coast Rowing Club. They'll be having their eighth annual "Learn to Row Day" on Saturday, June 6th at the Treasure Coast Rowing Center boathouse located just south of the Palm City Bridge at the SW corner of Leighton Park in Palm City.

Orientation and instruction sessions will be held at 9 am, 10 am and 11 am. You can reserve your place for the session of your choice by calling 772-286-0808.

IRSC Foundation to host Annual Alumni and Friends Golf Tournament

Fort Pierce, FL – Drew Mello talks with Ann Decker, Executive Director of the Indian River State College Foundation about the work of the foundation and their upcoming Annual Alumni and Friends Golf Tournament.


The 9th Annual Alumni and Friends Golf Tournament will be Friday, May 29th at Vero Beach Country. For reservations call 772-462-7880.

The tournament supports student scholarships and supports lifelong learning at IRSC.

Air-conditioning was a big plus for stores in the postwar years

Wodtke's Department Store was in Vero Beach.

In the 1950s, Wodtke's Department Store sold lots of white gloves to women, and hats to men and women. Women also bought bathing caps. Kay Wodtke Trent tells the story.
