Fort Pierce, FL – Drew Mello talks with Shelly Ferger, the founder and executive director of Dogs for Life in Vero Beach. DFL is a non-profit organization devoted to improving the quality of life for people and dogs through training assistance dogs and pet therapy dogs. They will be having their 2nd Annual Golf & Bridge Tournament at the Vero Beach County Club pm Tuesday, February 16.

Treasure Coast – Thursday 1/28 was the 50th anniversary of the death of Zora Neale Hurston. The author died in Ft. Pierce in 1960. By that time she was penniless and alone. But during her life, her anthropology work took her to Haiti. Hurston scholar Deborah Plant tells us about her time there.
