This is Paul Janensch with a Treasure Essay about BookMania! to be presented by the Library Foundation of Martin County next Saturday, March 7, from 9 to 5 at Jensen Beach High School. Authors will appear on five panels. Being a reader of Florida crime novels, I am especially interested in Lisa Black, who will be on the mystery panel. She is a latent-print examiner and crime-scene investigator in Cape Coral. Her latest book is “Close to the Bone.” The heroine is a forensic scientist for the medical examiner. One co-worker is missing and another beaten to death. Above him is written in blood: “Confess.” On lisa-black.com, the author says the happiest five years of her life were spent in a morgue – the one in Cleveland. Considering the winter they are having up there, I bet she is glad to be working in Cape Coral. I’m Paul Janensch.
