This is Paul Janensch with a Treasure Coast Essay about Impact 100. A hundred thousand dollars here, a hundred thousand dollars there make an impact each year on Indian River County’s human services. Impact 100 consists of about 450 women. Each contributes $1,000 annually. Nonprofits apply for grants of $100,000. Earlier this year, seven finalists made presentations to Impact 100. Members voted for four in official voting booths. The winners were: the Medical Society Foundation, Literacy Services, Senior Resource Association and Visiting Nurse Association. For example, the Medical Society Foundation will use its $100,000 to help set up a health clinic in Gifford, staffed by volunteer physicians. See what I mean about making an impact? I’m Paul Janensch.
