Our own tennis star

This is Paul Janensch with a Treasure Coast Essay about tennis pro Mardy Fish, formerly of Vero Beach and once ranked Number 7 in the world.  Fish, 33, had said he would retire at the U.S. Open, and he did, following a loss in the second round.   He already had cut back because of heart problems and panic attacks brought on by extreme anxiety disorder.  Fish moved to Vero Beach with his family in 1986.  He attended Vero Beach High School for one year, then transferred to Boca Prep in Boca Raton.  He now lives in Los Angeles with his wife Stacey Gardner and their young son Beckett.  The Mardy Fish Children’s Foundation continues to promote exercise and healthy eating in Indian River County elementary schools.  Good luck, Mardy.  Well done.  Please come back to see us often. I’m Paul Janensch.
