The president’s weekend with us

This is Paul Janensch with a Treasure Coast Essay about President Obama’s visit to the Floridian National Golf Club in Palm City.  When the Golfer-in-Chief arrived Saturday, March 28, at St. Lucie County International Airport, Congressman Patrick Murphy of Jupiter showed him a small bottle of gray-green water from the polluted St. Lucie River.  At the Floridian, Obama played several rounds unseen by the public and the press corps.  Floridian owner Jim Crane said the president, a lefty, is getting better.  The next day, friendly crowds waved to Obama as he was driven to the airport.  There he was reunited with pizza parlor owner Scott Van Duzer, known for giving Obama a big hug during the 2012 campaign.   On returning to Washington, the president tripped on the stairs from Air Force One but stayed upright.  I’m Paul Janensch.
