Rowing champs

This is Paul Janensch with a Treasure Coast Essay about our state rowing champions.  Four crews won state championships at the Florida Scholastic Rowing Association’s Sweeps regatta in Sarasota.   Earning state championships were the boys pair from Vero Beach High School Rowing and the girls freshman four from Treasure Coast Rowing Club.  Earning scholastic state championships – awarded to rowers from a high-school team – were the girls varsity-four from Vero Beach and the girls lightweight-eight from Sebastian River.  In earlier competition, a boy rower from Vero Beach was named single-scull scholastic state champion and girl rowers from Sebastian River were named double-scull scholastic state champions.  The sport of youth rowing is certainly catching on hereabouts.  I’m Paul Janensch.
