St. Lucie County Fair starts Friday

This is Paul Janensch with a Treasure Coast Essay about the 50th annual St. Lucie County Fair.  It starts Friday and goes through March 8.  A rodeo!  The rock band Hairball!  Country singer Randy Houser!  A demolition derby for amateur drivers!  Just like I-95!  A midway with 40 rides!  Cattle, horses, swine, dogs, chickens, rabbits!  Cakes, pies and bread!  Quilts and ceramic!  Wood craft, photography and painting!  Citrus, vegetables, and horticulture!   Pig racing!  Pig racing?  Yes, pig racing!  A county fair queen!  Soft drinks, beer, corn dogs, funnel cakes!  The 250-acre fairgrounds are west of Fort Pierce at Midway and Okeechobee roads.  For information put st. lucie county fair in your browser.  Look for me there.  I’ll be watching the pig racing.  I’m Paul Janensch.
