The Hallstrom Planetarium has provided shows and lessons about astronomy and science for the past twenty-five years. We use the dome and the star projector to teach Indian River State College students about celestial navigation and astronomy. We also offer free weekday planetarium shows to public, private and home-school groups to the four counties served by the college. And we present public sky shows which cost just $5 a person. The public shows are geared for grown-ups, and our presentations of “The Weather show” this Friday night and Saturday afternoon are no exception. But we have recently added another show called, “Kid Space,” which will have its first run this Saturday at 11 am. In “Kid Space,” we take children, ages 4 through 12, on scientific voyages of discovery, where they can learn all about outer space. This weekend’s show tells the very old story of Perseus, Andromeda, Pegasus, and the gorgon Medusa. Call the IRSC Box Office at 462-4750 for tickets!
