World’s largest frog leg festival

This is Paul Janensch with a Treasure Coast Essay about the upcoming Fellsmere Frog Leg Festival.  The Guinness Book of World Records calls it the largest frog leg festival in the world.  Shop at booths.  Go on fun rides.  Listen to live music.  Gulp down frog legs and gator tails.  I’d love a frog leg but will take a pass on a gator tail.  Money raised supports youth recreation in the Fellsmere area.  The 26th festival will be held Thursday through Sunday in the center of Fellsmere, an agricultural community in Indian River County on State Route 512 west of Sebastian.   Free parking is available on the streets and in two lots.  Fellsmere was founded more than 100 years ago by E. Nelson Fell.  It means “Fell’s Lake.”  Every year at this time, it’s full of frog legs – and gator tails, too.  I’m Paul Janensch.
