Voters Consider Water Issues

Oct 2, 2014

For decades, coastal residents to the east and west of Lake Okeechobee have battled ecological damage caused by an influx of fresh water released from the lake.  The releases safeguard the dike which encircles the lake. As Jill Roberts reports, many voters who live along the Indian River Lagoon on Florida’s east coast will have water issues on their mind as they cast their ballots this election season.

The $500,000 study is funded by Scott's Miracle-Gro and aims to identify the cause of the most serious pollution in the lagoon.
