Helping the health insurance needs of seniors

Drew Mello talks with Darlene Forage, Project Director of SHINE, (Serving Health Insurance Needs of Elders,) a volunteer program of the Aging and Disability Resource Center that helps seniors with health insurance counseling, including Medicare, Medicaid and prescription assistance.

SHINE, through a network of volunteer counselors, strives to help seniors understand and receive the health insurance coverage they need.

Fighting blood cancers

LLS will be having two upcoming fundraisers in August-their annual golf tournament will take place on Saturday, August 9th at Martin Downs Golf Club in Palm City. The following Saturday, August 16th Hot Caribbean Night, a wine tasting and celebrity chef cook-off will take place at the Mansion at Tuckahoe in Jensen Beach.

Goombay Bash

The LifeSavers are volunteers who raise funds for infant, pediatric and family programs at Martin Health.
