Fort Pierce, FL – This week on Treasure Coast Happenings, Drew Mello talks with Steve Mandell, headmaster of the Pine School in Hobe Sound.

The school will host the Treasure Coast's first TEDx symposium on Friday, September 23.

The day will feature a series of short, thought-provoking talks in the spirit of TED's mission, "ideas worth spreading."

Fort Pierce – David Ortiz worked as a locksmith in the World Trade Center on 9/11. His body wasn't found until around Thanksgiving of that year, says his brother, Fort Pierce police officer Martin Ortiz.

Fort Pierce – Sgt. Dennis McWilliams lost two first cousins and two second cousins on Sept. 11, 2001. Ten years later, the events remain etched in his memory.

Ft. PIerce – Chaplain Tommy Neiman helped distribute urns of ashes to the families of those killed in the Sept. 11th terrorist attacks. He tells us his story.

St. Lucie County – This will be the third year Deputy Sooner Means makes the trek of 280 miles. She does it to honor both the fallen and those left behind.

Tresaure Coast – Dennis McKenna of the 911 Responders of the Treasure Coast talks about plans to honor the fallen.
