Do you want to learn about local wildflowers? This might be the perfect opportunity. The UF/IFAS Extension St Lucie County will be conducting a “UF Extension Wildflower Bioblitz” on April 26, 2024 from 8:30 AM – 11 AM. This event will be hosted by UF/IFAS Natural Resources Extension Agent Ken Gioeli.
During this bioblitz event, participants will use iNaturalist to catalog the wildflowers on site. We will venture out on the unmarked, sometimes rough, trails learning about native wildflowers on the UF/IFAS Extension St. Lucie County campus. Participants will be asked to install the iNaturalist app on their phone prior to meeting up on April 26, 2024 and join the project “UF Extension Wildflower Bioblitz 2024.” UF/IFAS Extension St. Lucie County is located at 8400 Picos Road, Fort Pierce. Extension programs are open to all persons without regard to race, color, sexual orientation, sex, age, disability, religion, or national origin. Participants should wear appropriate field attire. Closed toe shoes, boots, long pants, hat are recommended. Personal cellphones are required.
Registration is required. This program registration fee is $5. For additional information, email Ken Gioeli ktgioeli@ufl.edu.

Spring Plant Sale!
The warm, sunny weather that the Treasure Coast has been enjoying has us ready to dig back into our gardens. Just in time, Garden Club of Fort Pierce brings back its “Plants in the Park” Spring Plant Sale. Plan on joining us for this once-a-year just-the-plants sale!
Find us at the historic garden center club building at the corner of S 10th and Georgia Ave. Wander beautiful shady grounds of Glidden Park and find your choice of perennials, annuals, exotics, and houseplants for sale.
The plants sold at our sale are from the gardens of our members, their families and friends. We’ll be there to help answer your questions and to find the right plant for your garden site (sun, shade, color, height, size, soil conditions, or ease of growing). Monies raised support garden related community projects, such as local veggie gardens and youth projects.
Come find your newest treasure at our April 27th Spring Plant Sale. Hint, hint: Mother’s Day will be just around the corner. We look forward to seeing you this April 27th!
