Hands Across the Lagoon

Drew Mello talks with Troy Rice, Director of the Indian River Lagoon National Estuary Program.

Stretching 156 miles, from New Smyrna Beach in the north, to Jupiter Inlet in the south, the Indian River Lagoon Estuary, is one of the most biologically diverse estuaries in the United States, supporting over 4,000 species of plants and animals

On Saturday, September 28th, which happens to be National Estuaries Day,an event called Hands Across the Lagoon will take place in all five lagoon counties to call attention to the declining condition of the Indian River Lagoon.
