One and a half of the richest Americans

The Forbes magazine list of the 400 richest Americans in 2013 includes one and a half billionaires on the Treasure Coast – down from three and a half a year ago.  On the list is Alfred James Clark, 85, of Vero Beach.  Another on the list is H. Wayne Huizenga, 75, who is identified by Forbes as a resident of Fort Lauderdale.  But he also owns a home in south St. Lucie County.  So we can claim half of him.  Clark is at Number 352 with a net worth of $1.5 billion.  His Clark Enterprises builds sports stadiums and other major structures.  Huizenga is at Number 222, with a net worth of $2.5 billion.  A college drop-out, he made his fortune with Waste Management Incorporated and Blockbuster Video and once owned the Miami Dolphins and the Florida Marlins.  On the list in 2012 but not 2013 were Albert Lee Ueltschi, of Vero Beach, founder of FlightSafety International, who died a year ago at the age of 90, and Charlotte Colket Weber, 70, of Hobe Sound, granddaughter of Campbell Soup founder John T. Dorrance.  She did not make the cut this time but has a net worth of $1.3 billion and remains the richest woman in Florida.  For 88.9 FM this is Paul Janensch
