Watching the Mets

This is Paul Janensch with a Treasure Coast Essay about seeing the New York Mets play at Tradition Field in Port St. Lucie.  Spring training has begun and will last six weeks.  Which game do we want to attend?  The Mets versus the Yankees?  The Red Sox?  The Cardinals?  We check the schedule on line by putting “mets” in a browser.  Most games start at 1:10. The gates open at 11:10.  We take I-95 to Exit 121. We buy stadium seats in an even-numbered section so we will sit behind the Mets dugout on the third-base side.    We buy Mets caps at a Fan Gear shop.  Want to get a pitcher’s autograph before the game?  The best spot is section 122, behind the Mets bullpen.  Hungry?  I love Nathan’s hot dogs and the knishes.  Very New York.  We stand for the National Anthem.  Applause.  Cheers.  Play ball!  I’m Paul Janensch.
